The restaurant takes its name from Metekhi Church, the 13th-century landmark on the cliff above the Mtkvari opposite the Old Town, and the area around it is one of the most photographed views of Tbilisi. Evenings with the folk dance and song programme are the busiest, so book a table in advance, especially for a group or a celebration. It is a good place to combine dinner with a walk along the river, Rike Park and the cable car to Narikala fortress.
