Mtskheta

Mtskheta is a town with a rich history, founded in the 1st millennium BCE by the ethnarch Mtskhetos. It was later proclaimed the capital of the Kartli Kingdom by King Parnavaz in the 4th century BCE. Today, Mtskheta is a vital cultural and religious center for modern-day Georgia, known for its cosmopolitan population and religious tolerance.
