Pasanauri Village

Kazbegi

Pasanauri Village is a charming destination in the Kazbegi region, offering stunning hiking trails, mineral waters, and a chance to taste the local secret spice blend in its famous khinkali. Located on the Georgian Military Highway, it's a great day trip from Tbilisi or a stop on the way to Kazbegi.

Pasanauri Village is nestled on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus Mountains in the White Aragvi River valley, about 70 kilometers from Tbilisi. This picturesque village has been a popular resort destination for Georgians since ancient times, thanks to its restorative mountain air and acidic mineral waters.

Things to See

One of the village's main attractions is the unique convergence of the White Aragvi and Black Aragvi rivers. The distinctly colored waters of these two rivers converge here, but never truly mix, even during floods. The river offers stunning views, photography opportunities, and exciting white water rafting experiences.

Outdoor Activities

Pasanauri offers a range of outdoor activities, including hiking tours on Lomisi Mountain, Alevi Cliff, and to the picturesque Keli Lake. Horseback riding tours are also available in the Khada Valley, allowing visitors to explore the region's grand sites, such as Davito Island and Sakore Mountain.

Local Cuisine

No visit to Pasanauri would be complete without trying the region's famous khinkali. Pasanauri khinkali is differentiated by a unique blend of spices used to flavor the meat, which is a local secret. Visitors can sample this delicious dish at local eateries and restaurants.
