Bakhmaro Resort

Located at 1950 meters above sea level, Bakhmaro Resort is a mountain resort in the Meskheti Range. The resort offers a unique combination of sea and mountain air, with the Black Sea only fifty kilometers to the west. This combination is not only good for your lungs, but it also strengthens the immune system.

Things to See

Bakhmaro in Summer is breathtaking, with alpine meadows, forests of spruce and fir, and colourful, hand-painted wooden houses scattered throughout the mist and greenery. Summer starts in June in Bakhmaro, with dry weather and an average temperature of 12.5°C.

In the winter, Bakhmaro is perfect for extreme skiers, with pristine and powdery snow, and plenty of opportunities for snowball fights, sledding, and relaxing by the stove.

Nature and Activities

Hiking is the main activity in the region, with plenty of opportunities to explore the surrounding mountains and forests. You can also sample some of Bakhmaro's local dishes, like kaymaghi, a popular Adjarian dish made using sour cream.

In the winter, you can rent a snowmobile to get you safely up the snow-covered road, and enjoy skiing, snowshoeing, or simply taking in the peaceful white blanket of snow.

Local Traditions

When in Bakhmaro, be sure to participate in the local tradition, which involves seeing the sunrise from the 'Sunriser' and the sunset from the 'Sunsetter'. You can also attend the folk horse race, which takes place on the Transfiguration holiday in August.
