Located 1,000-3,000 meters above sea level, Tianeti is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and history enthusiasts. The region is accessible via several roads, including one from Gldani, which passes through the breathtaking Sabaduri forest.
Things to See
Tianeti city center is home to a local museum showcasing archeological findings, as well as the beautiful Kujana garden. The surrounding area boasts around 100 medieval churches and fortresses, including the famous Bochorma church, Bodoji castle, and Jaleti church.
The nearby village of Nadokra is particularly notable for its five historic monuments, including the King Archil monastery from the VIII century. To the east of Tianeti, you'll find the Kveteri fortified city from the X-XI century.

To experience Tianeti's unspoiled nature, head north and follow the Iveri river valley, where you'll find multiple camping spots and stunning ravines created by the river's 11 tributaries. The forests are rich in mushrooms and berries, and the river offers great swimming and fishing opportunities.
