History
The village of Saguramo has a long and storied history, dating back to the 15th century when it was given to the nobleman Guram Zedginidze and his brothers by the King of Kakheti, Aleksandre I. It later became the center of the lands owned by the Guramishvilis, a noble family.
Saguramo is also notable for being the birthplace of the great Georgian poet David Guramishvili in 1705. Additionally, it was the site of an important conference of peasants in 1905, where demands for land reform and social change were made.
